What is Uneven Skin Tone?

Uneven Skin Tone is when the skin produces excess melanin resulting in patches of skin to appear darker. Melanin is the pigment that is responsible for giving your skin its colour.

What are the types of Uneven Skin Tone?

There are three types:

1. Post inflammatory trauma, caused by acne, rashes, inflammation.

2.Age-spots and melasma caused by hormones and sun-damage.

3. Sun-damage & freckles caused by sun exposure.

What are the causes of Uneven Skin Tone?

Uneven Skin Tone is caused by increase in melanin. There are various factors that can trigger an increase in melanin production. Sun exposure, UV exposure, hormonal imbalance, skin injuries, inflammation.

How to treat Uneven Skin Tone

There are various treatments available in clinic and most important topical products can be used to treat or minimise the affects. Clinical treatments include, micro-needling, radio-frequency and skin peel.

Treatments combined with topical products which have retinol, AHA's,BHA"s and other actives to help treat the inflammation is best for results.

The Skin Design London Uneven Skin Tone plan:

Your first line of defense should always be prevention and to protect the skin with an SPF and  a good Vitamin C for morning use and a Vitamin A for night time. These three daily skin saviours will do wonders for your skin. If you have Uneven Skin Tone then a gently freshening of your skin cells via a gentle exfoliation will begin the treatment process.

SDL's Vitamin Skin Peels are formulated, designed to help uneven skin tone and unclog pores. The ingredients used will also hydrate. This makes it unique and special compared to skin peels that have been used for years in the treatment of uneven skin tone and acne. No dry skin, peeling skin, redness or unnecessary inflammation.

The Vitamin Skin Peels have been used in clinic for over 8 years in keeping your skin fresh, helping to reduce the appearance of pigmentation. Most products on the market will dry and inflame the skin causing all sorts of skin issues. I have seen it many times,  the promise of even skin tone and within 2-4 weeks most clients cannot cope with the side effects of peeling, red, irritated skin and give up.
