Consistency Over Extremes: Why My Philosophy Has Never Changed in 18 Years
This week’s FDA announcement on the risks associated with aggressive radiofrequency microneedling didn’t surprise me but it did remind me why my approach to skin has always been different.
Every week, there’s a new viral skincare “solution” another product, device, or procedure that promises to transform your skin overnight. TikTok is flooded with content creators presenting themselves as experts, while clinics and practitioners feel pressured to chase what’s trending for revenue, rather than prioritising patient safety.
But the skin isn’t a marketing tool. Chasing trends that overpromise and over-deliver trauma will, inevitably, lead to long-term complications.
Eighteen years ago, I founded Skin Design London because I saw this cycle repeating — the rise of aggressive treatments, outdated facials, and an industry obsessed with extremes rather than real skin health. I wanted to create a system rooted in science, integrity, and results that last.
My philosophy has always been centred on healthy texture, balanced performance, and consistency. True transformation comes not from shocking the skin, but from training it to perform at its best — rebuilding collagen, refining tone, and strengthening the barrier.
“The future of skincare isn’t about aggression; it’s about alignment between the skin’s biology, clinical precision, and consistency.”
Trends will come and go. The algorithms will shift. But the fundamentals of skin science remain the same.
Healthy skin isn’t built on intensity it’s built on expertise, balance, and respect for the skin’s natural rhythm.
Because true luxury is not instant perfection it’s skin that performs beautifully, for life.
